We have an opportunity for a Portfolio Manager to join a new department “ Enterprise Change “  here at Direct Line Group

What being a Portfolio Manager involves:

The Portfolio Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing portfolio reporting and metrics – KPIs, balanced scorecard, status and progress, risk and issue reporting etc. You will also monitor compliance to reporting standards for pan-DLG programmes and projects to provide consistency and governance.

Other responsibilities include

  • Monitor, track and report on risks, issues and dependencies at the pan-DLG portfolio level
  • Deliver consistent reporting of the portfolio of in-flight programmes and projects
  • Develop and implement a consistent standardised mechanism for tracking and reporting on portfolio status, including KPIs, balanced scorecard, status, progress, risk, issue, quality, budget and time
  • Co-ordinate, control and report costs and milestones at the portfolio level
  • Define and implement reporting standards (including templates) and monitor compliance to standards for pan-DLG programmes and projects to drive consistency
  • Consolidate reporting from programme and project delivery teams, challenge status inputs from programmes and projects, and produce regular aggregated reports to stakeholders (including Exco)

Skills & experience required

  • Experience of working in a change environment either in a project, programme or portfolio function.
  • Excellent problem solving skills tackling cross directorate issues and problems.
  • Evidence of working in a matrix management way developing consensus through influence and common purpose rather than line management.
  • good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Desirable –  evidence of ability to manage a small team of people.
