Job Description

This role is fixed term for 18 months

Touchstone’s Kirklees Advocacy Service provides support to people experiencing difficulties with their mental health to speak up for themselves and to use their knowledge and experiences to help others. We are looking for a dedicated individual who is passionate about empowering people, upholding the rights of others and enabling people to have control over their recovery.

Using exceptional people skills you will need to provide one-to-one and group advocacy support to individuals, based upon principles of asset-based community development, peer support and co-production. With an understanding of different models of advocacy and experience of successfully working with people with mental health difficulties, you will need to demonstrate an ability to work using a culturally sensitive approach to ensure that our service is open and accessible to all communities of Kirklees.
