Job Description

Motor Network Technology Specialist

Purpose of Role

To provide information on the impact of vehicle technology on frequency and severity with a view of forward looking analysis expected from vehicles with new safety technology to assist in building future repair strategies

The role will work closely with the industry experts such as Thatcham ,Audatex  Vehicle Manufacturers to bring this data back into to the business to create models focusing on certain vehicle brands, technology devices to understand the impact on severity and frequency

The role will deputise for the Head of Transformation where appropriate working closely with the Network Support function ensuring one set of data is used across the leadership team

To develop a proposal on how a  team would manage the vehicle technology impacst across the claims experience including the ability to repair vehicles in the future

To support where appropriate any new product introduction from the Motor Hub team and share information across the pricing and underwriting teams to assist pricing models .

Key Accountabilities

Leadership and Strategy

  • Member of the Transformation team in the Motor Networks and Engineering Services , providing critical thinking, peer challenge.
  • Accountable for developing a technology driven severity and frequency model using internal and external data sources
  • Support the Motor Hub product development from a claims perspective
  • Support the implementation of new products developed by the claims team into the Motor Hub solution
  • Ensure that any changes due to technology are built into the DLG Auto Services BS 10125 accreditation
  • To share information across all the repair networks used by DLG to gain a best in class approach

People

During the first six months the Technology role will develop the requirements for a team based on a business needs basis going forwards

Risk:

Ensure all business activity is conducted in accordance with the Group’s Compliance environment, including adherence to the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) requirements and any other legal/regulatory/risk management frameworks that impact on the business acting as First Line of defence.

To ensure any external data sources are managed within the Groups Compliance and procurement rules.

Stakeholder Management:

  • To engage with the Motor Network and Engineering Services Leaders
  • To build close working relationships with the Transformation leaders
  • To build day to day relationships with the Motor Hub teams
  • To update and co ordinate activity with the claims teams to ensure new products are successfully implemented
