Motor Renewal Pricing Optimisation Manager

Working as part of the Motor Renewal Pricing team, you and your team will have primary responsibility for the optimisation algorithm of the motor renewal account. You will use your analytical expertise to understand customer behaviour in depth and use this to meet the demands of the business from the renewals account.

With an ever-changing motor insurance environment, these demands can take many forms: we have to react to the regulatory landscape; the new business market and the associated behaviours of our customers; the demands of the business; and of course, the demands of our shareholders. As part of the Motor Renewal pricing team, we are at the forefront of most of these challenges and are one of the most influential teams in the profitability of the business. You will have a team of individuals to help you deliver on your objectives who have a diverse range of skills and backgrounds.

What does being a Motor Renewal Optimisation manager mean?

  • An understanding of our business, products, routes to market, and the competitive and regulatory environment.
  • Knowledge and awareness of the different regulatory bodies and how their remit covers aspects of their business area. They always comply with legal requirements.
  • Familiarity of different types of analytical problems and the appropriate techniques to address these, in addition to a combination of curiosity, creative thinking, analytical reasoning and judgment to develop solutions to problems
  • Confidence in exploring important patterns in the data and develop and test hypotheses to explain these trends.
  • Understand that data is a strategic asset and develop our data capabilities with that in mind can think strategically about the long-term vision for their team
  • Leaders of their team by engaging and motivating them through developing their purpose, setting direction and managing team dynamics, in addition the manager will develop team members.

Skills and competencies sought

  • Pricing experience
  • Experience using a range of analytical softwares with specific focus on EMBlem and RADAR (although not essential)
  • Educated to degree level in a mathematical subject
  • An ability to communicate complex concepts in an easily understandable way
