PMO Manager

Great opportunity to be part of a new structure within our Business Engagement & Partnering Dept, with big plans for 2017, this will be challenging and rewarding opportunity for the right person, who is driven by providing excellence ..

To execute a range of planning, reporting and analysis activities to proactively support effective management and delivery of technology portfolios, programmes and projects.

Provide full lifecycle, industry leading PMO capability, adhering to change policies and supporting  the creation/maintenance of communities of practice.

PMO Manager

  • Agree the requirements for PMO services and manage, govern, and co-ordinate the delivery of agreed services to technology portfolios, programmes and projects.

–       Implement standard best practice policies/governance, templates, processes and tools.

–       Rapidly mobilise permanent or temporary PMO’s, supporting creation of programmes, portfolios or projects.

–       Ensure all changes have a robust and approved business case and apply appropriate change control and cost tracking governance.

–       Manage risks, issues, change requests and dependencies across portfolios, programmes and projects.

–       Ensure that appropriate governance is in place and that quality assurance is conducted.

–       Optimise use of change resources across portfolios, programmes and projects.

–       Support project health-checks and post project reviews.

–       Align portfolios, programmes and projects with corporate strategies and objectives

  • Create communications and stakeholder engagement plans. Provide key stakeholders with updates, insights and decision support material.
  • Provided secretariat and governance for relevant forums, ensuring key artefacts are stored within standard guidelines.
  • Drive planning and decision making processes in line with organisational/change timelines.
  • Provide advice and guidance to drive adoption and adherence to agreed processes and standards.   
  • Identify and implement opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement, contributing to communities of practice.
  • Maintain accurate data on resources and resourcing availability, developing options for resourcing and relieving bottlenecks.
  • Effectively lead a high performing, collaborative PMO teams.
  • Pro-actively demonstrate required behaviours in line with expectations of the role.

Skills & Experience required

  • Extensive experience of working as  PMO Manager within an enterprise scale environment
  • A genuine ability and excitement to take a Waterfall structure, and take out business in an Agile culture and thought process.
  • A team player who thrives in a mature outcome focused working environment
  • Previously worked in a mixed internal / outsourced model
