Project Manager – Facilities Management

Our Facilities Services business is looking for a Project Manager to manage and deliver the MOD life cycle and small works projects (AVEs) from inception to completion including income generation work. To collaboratively work with Stakeholders as part of Integrated Project team including adherence and compliance with both Skanska and the clients systems of work.

        You’ll:

  • Support the provision of a fully comprehensive project management strategy for the Lifecycle, Small works and any other Statutory Compliance works undertaken on the MOD sites including but not limited to:-
  • Working with the Establishment team to ensure all quotations are completed and returned within the Performance Management System time scales.
  • Management of any Life Cycle and Small works Project work (AVEs) including managing design, estimating, arranging for the ordering of materials and plant, resource planning and implementation of direct labour or contract labour.
  • Pre plan all works with relevant stakeholders and then liaise with all relevant parties including but not limited to Operations Managers, Estates Managers, clients, trade contractors and other third parties including departments to agree acceptable commencement date for the works. Ensuring access is available and the planned works do not compromise day to day operations and that works are delivered in an efficient and cost effective manner.
  • Modify site drawings on AutoCAD as small works/Life Cycle dictates and upload onto Dome. Also upload both current and past modified drawings onto Dome.
  • Responsible for the electronic management / storage of all lifecycle / small works projects documentation. Including the upkeep of the tracking systems to ensure works are invoiced in a timely manner and ensure costs are recovered.
  • Monitor the overall requirements of the cleanliness in Defence initiative.
  • Fulfil the duties of Principal Contractor as defined by CDM 2015.
  • This role is based at Main Building, Whitehall, normal working hours apply however, where required support out of hours and weekend working in relation to projects and operational delivery that demand the level of management and resource, to be agreed with line manager

We’re looking for:

  • SC clearance, or be able achieve this along with achieving DV level of clearance and fulfil the requirements to satisfy DBS verification.
  • Ideally technically qualified to minimum of HNC (Building/Mechanical) or Degree plus previous experience in engineering and building maintenance operations is required.
  • Part or professionally qualified in electrical/ mechanical engineering related discipline with a recognised professional body, or willing to engage with necessary additional learning to achieve status.
  • Relevant H&S qualification ideally Nebosh General or Construction Cert
  • Ideally hold experience and appointment as AP Electrical & Mechanical
  • Demonstrable experience working to British Standards and current regulations, including L8.
  • Good understanding and working knowledge of several software packages including Microsoft Office suite consisting of Access, MS Project, Visio and experienced in use of MIS systems and Asset Data base systems.
  • Experience of CDM regulations is a mandate
  • Proven experienced in delivering multiple complex projects to a value of £1.0M, and high calibre experience of trouble shooting where required.
