Job Description

Infrastructure Services – North Somerset

We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join our highways team in Sandford, North Somerset.

Skanska Highway Services, a part of our Infrastructure Services business, operating, maintaining and improving the road network. Skanska currently provide around £160m of combined network management, design and contracting services for our clients, and employing over 1,300 people who deliver frontline operational work as well as design, project management and other vital office-based service


  • Manage of Subcontractor accounts;
  • Produce cost and value reports against forecast and commenting on discrepancies to senior management;
  • Attend periodic F&R (Forecast & Review) meetings with commercial and operational teams;
  • Adherence to Skanska’s Commercial Guide and corporate protocols;
  • Prepare of EWN’s and CE’s as required by senior management;
  • Administer Contractor/Subcontractor change control procedures

We’re looking for:

  • Demonstrable highways maintenance/civil engineering experience preferably with a contracting organisation, particularly under the NEC suite;
  • Reasonable working knowledge of commercial software applications such as Inform/IFS/CPA/iCON and Microsoft demonstrating sound IT proficiency;
  • Proficient commercial administrator with experience and understanding of change control, certification, risk and subcontract management;
  • Fully conversant with the more standard Methods of Measurements and Conditions of Contract and ability to maximise recovery using these commercial tools;
  • A confident communicator orally and in writing to deliver accurate information in a way that meets the needs of the recipient
