Sales Co-ordinator

This is a fantastic opportunity to join Direct Line Group as a Sales Co-ordinator reporting into the Regional Underwriting Manager within our NIG business area. This role will provide great insight into the activity of a trading region, from Senior Management; the Sales team and the Technical Underwriting Centre in which all activities combine together with one aim in mind – the Broker.

Purpose of role

In this role, you will proactively support the regional sales team to manage the regional broker panel through effective business development strategies and collaborate with key stakeholders to achieve growth and profit.

Key accountabilities

  • Assist the RUM in maintaining sources of regional management information and the completion of sales reports in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Support your sales team in the application of the distribution strategy to the regions broker panel, influencing the use of segmentation to prioritise trading activity focusing on the priority segments.
  • Provide broker meeting material for your sales team highlighting core discussion points, helping to drive effective management of their broker panel.
  • Develop your market profile and marketing knowledge.
  • Responsible for updating Agency records, commission schedules and general Agency database and segment changes.
  • Use BRM to manage branch broker contact lists (especially for networks and First brokers) and take an active role in the ongoing segmentation process ensures your regions brokers are correctly segmented. Be your sales team’s BRM expert helping them use the tool to manage and record our broker activities (visits, profiles etc)
  • Be the sales teams internal representative ensuring underwriting activity (quotes and renewals) are completed on time and contributes to the broker relationship strategy driving profitable growth.
  • Manage the large risk prospect and pipeline process to ensure all information and deadlines are achieved and an effective pipeline process contributes to the regional Sales Plan.

Track and manage the deal and schemes process, have a working knowledge of the financial modelling tool to assist SBDM’s in collating and storing deal documentation reporting to HO on time.
  • Support eTrade product launches and champion eTrade relationships with the eTrade team and P’boro.
  • Ensure effective collaboration as required with the various teams around the business required to help your sales team deliver budget – Trading Region, Underwriting Centre’s, Peterborough, KAM’s, Claims, eTrade, Risk Control and central functions (marketing, schemes, Commercial Support, strategy and propositions).
  • Assist the organisation at broker events and hospitality and co-ordinate with the different areas of the business.
  • Where identified manage a small panel of brokers and deliver agreed development targets.
  • Maintain regional gifts and hospitality register. Identify, own and manage the risks involved in running our business appropriate to my role, in line with Direct Line Group risk framework and regulatory requirements.

Qualities you’ll need

  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Attention to detail combined with the ability to work in an agile way.

Hours: 35 hours, Monday to Friday

Salary indication: Up to £30,000 basic + 9% of your base salary as a pension contribution, however you can choose to contribute less or more than this, and anything you don’t wish to put in to your pension you can take as cash instead!

This would mean that the total salary package can be up to £32,700
