Permanent Senior Operational Excellence Expert

Job Description


  • Train, coach and support the EC&R senior leadership team in building their own Operational Excellence capabilities so that they can drive and support the overall transformation
  • Remove barriers to change and build full buy-in of senior leaders by influencing them to see the benefits to Operational Excellence and role model the expected behaviour
  • Partner the EC&R senior leadership team to monitor progression against their annual improvement goals
  • Actively support the OE Experts to deliver multiple Operational Excellence “Roll-outs”, which introduce colleagues to Operational Excellence skills and tools across the organisation
  • Coach and develop the OE Experts and continually improve their capabilities
  • Identify and transfer best practices across “Roll-outs” and teams
  • Challenge and enable the functions/sites to make OE the daily “way of working”
  • Carry out Operational Excellence “Maturity Assessments” to understand site/teams strengths and weaknesses and help the OE Expert team define the associated plan of improvement
  • Work and support the OE Experts to deliver sustainable performance improvement by providing them with guidance and expert problem solving support
  • Ensure that there is impact for EC&R through the application of Operational Excellence
  • Support the use of the Operational Excellence system at E.ON and ensure that our standards are applied
  • Contribute to the development of the central Operational Excellence team and programme, actively network with peers from the community and promote best practice sharing within E.ON


  • Excellent university degree in a related field e.g. Business, Management, Economics, Engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience and a passion for Operational Excellence/Lean Management
  • Previous experience in project management of large scale operations transformations across departmental or business borders
  • Experience in training, facilitation and coaching of others to gain new skills
  • A solution-orientated and analytical individual, dedicated to finding pragmatic/simple solutions to complex problems
  • Strong communication skills, able to influence others without direct authority and able to clearly communicate: objectives, progress and needs of the programme
  • Strong social competence, able to influence others without direct authority
  • Experience in the ‘Renewables’ industry or other engineering backgrounds is a plus
  • The role involves frequent travel (up to 80%), so flexibility and a willingness to travel is a must
  • Fluent in English, additional languages welcome
