Sourcing Support

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Sourcing Support Specialist in our Leeds office, on a permanent, full-time basis. Working within the Shared Services environment, Sourcing Support will look after the delivery of sourcing and contracting strategies, the delivery of tactical sourcing projects or contract renewals with moderate to low complexity and risk, and will ensure project objectives are delivered to time and budget within the required quality standards

Working closely with the Process and Technology Excellence Manager, you will act as an SME for the Procurement System (currently iProc) an develop and deliver procurement solutions that reflect commercial insight and understanding of stakeholder requirements.

Key Accountabilities

Strategy Implementation

  • Ensure project delivery is in-line with Category Strategy and aligned with  Business and Stakeholder requirements

Category Management & compliance

  • Source activities compliant with category management, DLG Policies and standards, governance and risk mechanisms

Sourcing

  • Execute delegated sourcing activities under the leadership of the Operations Manager, Sourcing Manager or Sourcing Specialist, utilising other shared services teams and subject matter experts as appropriate
  • Delivery of sourcing strategies, managing supplier negotiations and contracting
  • Display knowledge of cost drivers, category and market

Transactional support

  • As an SME on the Procurement System, provide transactional buying support such as guidance on the optimum buying channel, how to raise an order and ad hoc training and support to end users. Sourcing Support will work closely with the Process and Technology Excellence Manager on these activities

Stakeholder Management

  • Have an understanding of the business requirements and relevant market developments
  • Independently engage with Stakeholders in such a way that positively engages their support, understanding and meeting their needs through effective solutions and management of third parties

Results and Performance

  • Accountable for the quality and effectiveness of project delivery within areas of responsibility, applying standard processes for quality control
  • Deliver predicted business outcomes in terms of savings and business improvements across the categories

Project and Change Management

  • Ensure project governance is in place for all projects including signed charters, project plans and appropriate baselines
  • Execute projects utilising best practice Procurement techniques, inputting into stakeholder’s scope of requirements and specification design, devising negotiation plans and manage negotiation process with stakeholder and supplier(s)
  • Identify, monitor and manage project risks, reporting progress and issues to stakeholders

Category Responsibilities

  • Deliver delegated tactical project work across any Procurement category

  • Project management experience
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work well within a team and independently, as necessary
  • Excellent attention to detail
