Strategic Account Manager – Public Sector & Smart Cities

Salary: Competitive + Company Car

Location: Coventry with UK-wide travel.

Right now, we’re looking for a talented Strategic Account Manager to join our Solutions Sales team. Here you’ll play a key part in developing, delivering and managing the solutions growth strategy in the public sector and smart cities arena. Not only will you cultivate and develop existing public-sector relationships, you will originate, develop then lead partnerships with and bids and sales to specific target cities and public sector clients.

You will own the strategic level relationships with target UK city and public-sector client budget holders, decision makers and frameworks which collectively constitute the key stakeholders of the smart city and energy solutions sales pipeline. You’ll be tasked with developing and managing those relationships and associated partnerships and bids to secure E.ON’s position as the partner of choice for public sector, city and community solutions.

What we need from you:

  • Demonstrable track record of managing internal and external customer relationships at Board level in a competitive environment.
  • Experience of working in public sector and external strategic partnering environments.
  • Experience in robust product and services bid management, contract drafting, negotiation and operational management.
  • Experience in managing a portfolio of projects whilst balancing multiple stakeholders both internally and externally.
  • Working cooperatively and collaboratively with internal colleagues in tax, treasury, legal, controlling, structured finance, Strategy, Communications, IT and procurement throughout project and contract development and through project and contract approval stages.

It would be great if you had:

  • Understanding of the energy solutions market and public-sector targets and ambitions in this area.
  • Change advocate.
  • Experience of commercial management across a broad portfolio of customers/products/services/transactions.
  • Advanced stakeholder management.
