Job Description

he Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) is an internationally recognised centre of excellence for research in tropical diseases.  Through the creation of effective links with governments, organisations and institutions and by responding to the health needs of communities, LSTM aims to promote improved health, particularly for people of the less developed / resource poorest countries in the tropics and sub-tropics.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Education Department for a Student Experience Officer to join the team in Academic Registry. As a key member of the team you will need to be enthusiastic and motivated to provide advice and support to students on welfare issues. You will support, monitor and report on the quality of the LSTM student experience.

This is a demanding role, and you must have experience of working in a customer service-focused environment. You will be experienced in providing welfare, accommodation and disability advice to students with the ability to analyse numerical and other data to produce concise reports to inform strategic decision making by the Head of Department.

Ideal candidates will be educated to Degree level (or equivalent Level 4 Professional Qualification) in a relevant subject area or have substantial and proven relevant professional experience. You will be computer literate and possess a sound knowledge of both Student Disability and Housing Rules regulations.

A team player, with proven organisational skills you will be a confident communicator, possessing excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to deliver effective presentations to staff and students. With well developed time management and decision making skills, you will have the capability to sustain rapport with a wide variety of people in a multicultural environment, whilst remaining calm under pressure.
