In addition, the Trust is committed to the educational development of surgical staff and candidates will have access to study leave, exposure to clinics and theatres, teaching and have the opportunities to undertake audits. The department of Urology is very dynamic and innovative and won a national award for the development of Urology One Stop clinics in the hospital setting and went on to develop similar community clinics. The department has also taken on new techniques such as the Greenlight laser for prostatectomy and is becoming established as a centre for minimal invasive urological surgery providing laparoscopic renal surgery and holmium laser surgery for renal calculi. We as also offer template biopsies for diagnosis of prostate cancer and there is plan to develop and offer MRI fusion prostate biopsies.

We will consider genuine needs and assistance towards relocation expenses and/or travel costs. Lancaster is a small city, with a lot of history, and has a popular University. There is so much to see and do, and you will have plenty of leisure activities to choose from. The area has good schools, and there are excellent road and rail links to the rest of the country.
