This is a four-year course with a year of study abroad. It covers all the basic subjects in the Common Law of England and Wales, but with an emphasis on the European and international legal contexts.
You study the principles of comparative law in the first year and EU and international law in the second year. You spend your third year studying law at one of our partner universities overseas. You will study in English so you don’t need to know another language. You return to Sheffield to complete your degree.
We have a wide variety of partner universities. Opportunities are currently available in Australia, Austria, Canada, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, Lithuania, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland and the US.
Financial help from the University – bursaries
If you’re a UK student, you could be entitled to a University bursary. A bursary is the same as a grant – you don’t have to pay it back.
