The Office for National Statistics (ONS) is currently taking a fresh look at options for the production of population and small area socio-demographic statistics for England and Wales. The Beyond 2011 Programme has been established to carry out research on the options and to recommend the best way forward to meet future user needs.
As part of Beyond 2011′s external quality assurance process, ONS will be holding a research conference in collaboration with the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and the British Society for Population Studies (BSPS). This will take place on Tuesday 30th April and Wednesday 1st May at the University of Southampton, Building 38, Garden Court (Garden End), Highfield Campus, Southampton, Hampshire, SO17 1BJ.
Day 1 will cover some background to the Programme, including some findings from the key research to date. Parallel workshop sessions will run on Day 2, which will go into the more specific details of the research. Delegates may attend on either or both days of the event. Lunch and refreshments will be provided. Travel and accommodation expenses must be met by delegates.
This event is free. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
Please note that booking will close on Wednesday 27 March 2013.
